In this page I will gradaully include the datasets and syntax to replicate the analyses of the book MPs’ Roles and Representation. The page is still under construction, but you can already download the first version of the replication dataset and the syntax to obtain most of the figures and tables presented in Chapters 4, 5 and 6.
To produce those analyses I often had to combine data from different sources, clean and elaborate them to compute several indexes. In preparing the replication files I decided to keep all those operation as transparent as possible, even if this often complicates the syntax files.
The replication dataset already includes the results of the operations described in Chapter 3, most notably the process through which I labelled the Parliamentary Questions (territorial dimension and policy focus) and the Bills (type of responsiveness) presented by Italian deputies. I felt this would have been too much. If you are interested in replicating those steps please contact me.
